01Public safety software2023

A clearer roadmap for public-safety dispatch.

Peraton — Senior Business Analyst / Product Manager

Product strategy and roadmap for computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software serving public safety services in New York — a $20,000,000 program in 2023.

The challenge

Computer-aided dispatch software for public safety services has to hit its delivery dates and quality standards. The product needed a clear strategy, a prioritized backlog, and two engineering teams moving in the same direction.

What I did

  • Developed the product strategy and roadmap for the New York CAD program.
  • Led two agile engineering teams of 15+ developers, sustaining all delivery dates and quality standards.
  • Documented sprint-planning components — feature requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ran market research and competitor analysis; tracked 10+ core KPIs in Jira to drive the backlog.
  • Facilitated product demos and reviews and implemented agile practices across the teams.

Keeping statewide programs on track.

Texas Department of Criminal Justice — Senior Business Analyst

Delivery tracking and Jira administration for enterprise programs — CAPPS financial systems, the Corrections Information Technology System (CITS), and Parole/Public Safety.

The challenge

Large, cross-functional initiatives touching finance, HR, IT operations, and public safety — with statewide operations and mission-critical services depending on them — needed shared visibility and tighter alignment between business and delivery teams.

What I did

  • Translated complex requirements from business leaders, developers, analysts, and vendors into clear epics, user stories, and prioritized backlogs.
  • Managed delivery tracking for CAPPS, CITS, and Parole/Public Safety programs.
  • Led Jira administration for enterprise-scale programs — workflows, permissions, dashboards, and reporting.

03The person behind the work

I speak business. I speak tech. I translate both.

I'm an IT professional with more than 13 years of experience supporting and growing business objectives. My work sits at the intersection of business analysis, product management, and program management — I'm comfortable moving between all three to get a solution implemented and working for the people who depend on it.

My path started in Laredo, Texas, building websites and running digital ventures, then moved through enterprise IT at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and into public-sector delivery for TxDOT, Texas DPS, Travis County, Peraton, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

I'm known for building consensus, facilitating discussions and negotiations with key stakeholders, and exercising sound, independent judgment on complex problems. I'm bilingual in English and Spanish and hold a Master of Science in Information Systems.
